RESERVATIONS
1. Do I need to fill anything out prior to boarding?
A Registration Form (see below) is required to be completed prior to, or at time of initial check in.
2. When I call for a reservation, is it guaranteed?
Reservations can only be guaranteed with a credit card or a $50 advance deposit. In addition, we must receive proof of all vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian IN ADVANCE of boarding in order to hold the reservation. If proof is not received at least 3 days in advance, the reservation will not be held.
3. What if I need to cancel a reservation?
Reservations must be cancelled at least 3 days prior to the beginning of the stay to avoid a $50 cancellation charge.
4. What if I just don't show up?
No shows will be charged 50% of the anticipated boarding stay (a no-show is defined as more than 4 hours after the scheduled check in- time).
5. Do I pay when I drop my pet off, or when I pick them up?
Reservations of 30 days or more will require a 50% deposit at time of check in. First time clients are required to pay when the guest is brought in for boarding, however, returning clients may pay at the end of the boarding stay.
HOURS & CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT
1. If I check in at 7:00 p.m., are there boarding charges for that day?
Boarding charges are structured like those in a hotel: you are charged for the day you check in regardless of the time of check in.
2. Is there a charge for the day of check out?
There is no charge for the day of check-out, providing guests are picked up by 12:00 noon. After 12:00 noon, daycare rates apply as follows:
Dogs: Between noon and 6:00 p.m. = $16 per dog; after 6:00 p.m. is $20 per dog
Cats picked up after noon are $7 per cat regardless of pick up time.
3. What are the regular business hours?
In an attempt to be as accommodating to our clients schedule as possible, we don't have "regular" business hours. For drop offs and pick ups we ask that clients provide a 1-2 hour window between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in which they will drop off or pick up their loved one. (Although for special cases we've been known to bend those rules!)
For tours, we ask that you call in advance and set up a time that is convenient for you as well as us. We LOVE to give tours, but want to make sure we can devote the time to showing you around and not worry about clients dropping off or picking up their pets.
4. What if I want to drop my pet off at 8:00 p.m.?
We would prefer pets to be dropped off prior to 6:00 p.m. This gives them time to settle in and get to know us before going to bed. When making the reservation, please tell us what time you intend on arriving so we can plan accordingly. Keep in mind, just like a hotel, guests are charged for the first day regardless of the time of arrival.
HEALTH & VACCINATIONS
1. What vaccinations are required for boarding?
Dogs: rabbies (1 or 3 year), DHLPPC (yearly), Bordetella (yearly)*
Cats: Rabies (1 or 3 year), FVRCP (every 2 years), negative FeLV test in the past 2 years
* The bordetella vaccine helps prevent a condition known as "kennel cough". In order to be effective, a first-time vaccination shold be administered at least 7 days prior to boarding. Some evidence recommended that for maximum protection, the vaccination should be administered every 6 months for canines who are boarded, however, most veterinarians administer a yearly bordetella which will be accepted. The bordetella vaccine does not guarantee kennel cough will not occur, but will greatly minimize the chance of occurrence.
2. If my pet is sick, can I still board him/her?
Guests must be in good health and free of external parasites such as fleas. Guests showing signs of fleas or ticks will be treated at the owner's expense with Frontline Plus, which is a topical flea treatment. Cost for this treatment is $18.
Regrettably, for the health and safety of our fellow guests, Wag & Purr cannot accept:
Any guest requiring medical attention will be seen by a licensed veterinarian at the owner's expense. We will use the contact information provided to attempt to contact the owner, the owner's veterinarian on record, and/or the emergency contact prior to any treatment.
ACTIVITIES
We pride ourselves on interaction with all our guests. Canines will be taken outside several times a day for exercise, or may play with toys (or on the furniture!) in "The Lounge" while watching their favorite TV program or DVD. Felines will have access to the entire cat room and it's toys several times a day and may also watch their favorite DVD or listen to music.
